The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) released new standards for practice for Enrolled Nurses. These are a framework of core practice standards for assessing EN practice.
The new standards take effect on 1 January 2016. The NMBA has provided an easy fact sheet which you can view here which explains the changes simply and easily. These new ‘Enrolled Nurse standards for practice (2015)’ replace the ‘National competency standards for the enrolled nurse (2002)’, and have clearer wording regarding RN supervision, delegation of tasks and role relationships.
We recommend you visit the NMBA’s website and review these changes in full.
