As my years of MBA study are drawing to close, I am interested to note how much I have learnt about management – despite having managed this business for 12 years!
It makes me remark on the fact that many of us nurses are promoted or ‘pushed’ into healthcare management roles with little or no preparation for the difficulty of these roles. I am amazed at how understanding decision making, project management and communication theory has improved my functioning as a manager and I wish I had known this 12 years ago.
I am excited to share this information and Kaye and I are eager to introduce a range of first line healthcare management topics into our education portfolio, both face to face and online.
